By SIMON TIPU Recently there where a good number of posts regarding the systematic and systemic corruption being perpetrated by politicians, and people in positions of power. The lies, the deceits and betrayals that has become the norm in PNG. So many of this vitriolic posts have being directed against the current Government headed by Peter O'Neill, his Ministers, other MPs in the Govt, heads of the bureaucracy, SOEs, and etc. In 2012, when PNG last held its National Elections, many commentators said that the Elections was rigged and people who they didn't think would become MPs in the current Parliament somehow won a seat. Most MPs with their Parties in tow supported PO in a landslide win to become the PM of PNG whether he was accused of breaching the Constitution when he first grabbed power in August of 2011. By GABRIEL RAMOI There is an application pending approval at IPA for  junior  Mining Company Pan Aust LTD  to buy majority Interest in the Freida Mine for US$25 million. This development is unacceptable and the Prime Minister and the  Minister for Mines ,Commerce and State Enterprise must summon Xstrata –Glencore forthwith to explain the nature of the arrangement with Pan Aust Ltd  The Government of PNG  by law  has the right of First refusal to acquire the interest of Xstrata - Glencore and must outlay the US$25 million to take over the  controlling interest in Freida now and Develop the mine itself as it is now doing in OK Tedi and safe guard the wealth of the nation and  not allow Foreign Carpet Beggars to pull a wool over our eyes.  It is obvious  what is being schemed here.  Pan Aust Ltd is a company that is under Capitalised and is incapable of raise US$6 Billion which is the estimated development cost in bringing Freida Mine into Production without sovereign backing from the PNG

PNGBlogs After this morning's lose to Samoa, PNG will finish last in their group with ZERO WINS , despite being a nation reognised for playing League PNG will be outranked in the next International Ranking to come out after the World Cup to be outside the top 10 League Playing Nations,  Attention should now be put to the people who have put together this team, a National team that has no National in the management, a management hierarchy made up of desperate expatriates who are only in it for the money, we have been robbed PNG, robbed because we don't believe in ourselves and look up to people who we think have all the answers. We have been playing this game for over 50 years and yet we have not achieved anything in the international stage, it is a shame, all the money that should have been put to proper use by these organisations and the government has been botched by a few greedy people. Paul Paraka Lawyers principal was arrested last week and is now out on bail. What is startling from this latest development is that Papua New Guineans will now come to know that the Peter O’Niell PNG’s Prime Minister is a serial LIAR and does not have control over this government and cabinet. Internal documents now confirm the authority given to the two Ministers came from the Prime Minister himself,   the two ministers have been a willing party to collaborate with the Law firm by directing their offices in issuing warrant to release payments to Paraka Lawyers. Finance Minister James Marape issued the initial instructions to his secretary Steven Gibson on the 3 rd o

By GOVERNOR GARY JUFFA MP The two dailies are owned by foreign interest, foreign corporate interest to be specific. Papua New Guinea does not own a daily, one that is at least controlled by a Papua New Guinean, one that reports issues of interest to Papua New Guinea and Papua New Guineans. What is reported instead is merely what sells, what suits the interests of those who control these entities and that which does not in anyway conflict with the interests of the stakeholders that influence the output of these entities. Certainly the journalists are Papua New Guineans, but they are subject to the parameters defined by the powers that be that maintain control over what is allowed to run for print and public consumption. Many credible journalists leave after frustrating efforts to be true to their vocation. This is of no concern to the papers as there are many more where they came from.
