WE WILL RISE UP – MONDAY.

Image
By  Mala Dinoneil Comrades. We have talked enough. The time has indeed come for us to act. And act fast. If we delay another day, major and more shocking changes are expected to be announced by Peter O’Neill. Below is why we (the citizens) need to act. IPATAS, WINGTI, MARABE, MICAH, PARKOP: Where are the influential MPs of our time? Elected leaders no longer fear the dictates of their conscience. They do not seem to be guided by a deep sense of duty, decency, and ethics. Just consider these pot-bellies, shamelessly trying to defend Peter O’Neill. They do not give a damn if Peter O’Neill aggressively undermines the rule of law, and destroys the very institutions that hold us together. Peter Ipatas is supporting Peter O’Neill because the latter has committed millions into Engan treasury for a proposed Hospital and a Hydro project. WH’s Paias Wingti is supporting O’Neill because the PM injected millions for the reconstruction of the Kapal Haus. Since Parkop, Marab

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY?

Image
By BRYAN KRAMMER If the PM is innocent until proven guilty then why do the Police want to arrest him??? It seems many in social media and the country are confused and asking the same question. So for their benefit I will provide a simple explanation to answer that very question. When a crime is committed a complainant (victim) or witnesses will report it to Police. Police will conduct an interview of the victim and witnesses and further investigate to collect the evidence to confirm the witness's story. In most cases the only evidence will be witness accounts. White Collar crimes or Fraud will involve both witnesses and documentation (written letters, emails, bank transactions cheques etc). Police will not tell the accused (suspect) they are investigating him/her to avoid them hiding or destroying the evidence to cover up their tracks. Once Police are satisfied they have sufficient (enough) evidence to confirm the witnesses story and a crime has been committed they will then call

PNG Political Leaders Must Posses Leadership Qualities

By SAM ILAU The current allegations of corruption surrounding the Prime Minister  and subsequent development of public pressure aftermath to have the  PM resign and face alleged charges made against him  leaves  a vacuum in the heart of man, one that has confounded man since his creation; that is the test or ability to distinguish between good and evil. That has been the test of man and God in the beginning of time and only when man can discern evilness in his own heart and that of another would he gain the greatest gift from God to man. When Adam ate the forbidden  fruit being lured by the love of his wife, the eyes of his understanding open, promoted his inner conscience to trouble him leading to conviction  and subsequent  admission of his disobedience and sin. If man can follow this simple steps to listen his consciences and conviction,  repentance and forgiveness is the masterpieces of Gods works. It always been true as the bible accurately predicts “that the heart of man is d

WILL THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE OF CHIMBU SAVE THE NATION?

By Kundiawa Blogger Is it Simbu or is it Chimbu?  Those from up on top put that confusion on us long ago, and most of us have still not learnt the correct answer to the question.  But there is no doubt that the people of this mountainous province rank amongst the hardest working people in the nation.  Starting from memory with Sir Iambakey Okuk and extending to the present, many Simbuans have served our nation with honour. Now the eyes of the nation are focused directly on the people of Simbu for they have suddenly pushed themselves into the forefront of Parakagate and the Corruption Scandal of Peter O’Neill.    The people of other places in the highlands, including the home province of the Prime Minister himself, are speaking out loud and clear that the continued obstructions to justice and coverup of corruption allegations by the Prime Minister of this country must STOP.   Young people, who see their future destroyed by the mounting national debt to pay off secret kickbacks and o

The fear is that they might get the files and destroy them. This is a sign that Fridays decision at the court will not favor them so they are desperate to play heavy handed tactics.

NOW IS THE TIME, PNG BUSINESS COMMUNITY. END YOUR SILENCE ON PETER O'NEILL!

Image
By PNG Special Correspondent Actually, now is not the time.   It was the time more than 2 years ago.   Now it’s way past time for PNG’s business community to step up to the plate.  We don’t mean the businesses who are part and parcel of the kickbacks and bribes that have spoiled PNG and threaten now to impoverish our people.  We also aren’t talking about businesses who try to cheat our country of every last toea in taxes that they should be paying to relieve the backs of the common worker.   No, we talking about businesses who do things ethically in PNG and provide essential services for us all.  It is past time for you to stop mumbling and instead to stand up and be counted. For a group who prides yourselves in being entrepreneurial and proactive when the general public is not, it is amazing how reactive and petty your performance has always been in regard to corrupt business practices and corrupt governments.     Dear business community,  it is time to stand up and be counte

HIGHLANDERS NOT FIT TO RUN A NATION STATE, WE'LL BE READY AFTER 100 YEARS:

Image
PROUD HIGHLANDER By LEO HENRY MORGAN Speaking as a central Highlander, we are a hardy bunch no doubt molded by our harsh environment and climate. I leave the Eastern Highlanders out of the argument as they are linguistically and culturally more related to coastal tribes. The tribes occupying the central Highlands Cordillera from the now 6 Highlands Region provinces starting from Simbu, Jiwaka, Western Highlands and Southern Highlands, Enga and Hela provinces can be accurately classified as a single race because of their similar languages, customs and their common aggressive character traits. Our people and society is dark, scary and culturally complex to the outside observer. Ours is a society in which the "big man" rules supreme. Where women are second class citizens that are a man's properties. Where warriors kill at will and take land and property at will. AND ULTIMATELY, WHERE A MAN IS MEASURED BY THE AMOUNT OF WEALTH THAT HE HAS, AND THE AMOUNT OF GUILE HE USE

PETER O’NEILL VS THE PEOPLE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Image
By MALA DINONEL  My fellow Papua New Guineans. The Prime Minister is not only corrupt and dictatorial, but he is also arrogant and intentionally evil. He steals and lies about it. He tells lies and blames others. He blames others and threaten them. He does wrong and fires those who point out his wrongs. He refuses to answer questions before the Fraud Squad, but he loves to bull-shit the journalists (most of whom have no experience in investigative journalism). He passes legislations aimed at entrenching and sustaining his own power. He does shit and says he is doing it “for the interest of the country.” Well, the time has finally come for the people to let the Prime Minister KNOW what our interests are. If the Prime Minister does not “step down” and allow the “rule of law” to “clear his good name,” we will CLOSE PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Below are the details for THIS THURSDAY: PORT MORESBY . All NGOs, TI, NRI, Churches, UPNG (entire NCD student body), people from all provinces,

AUSTRALIA WELL PLACED TO CONSIDER PNG SANCTIONS, SAYS CORRUPTION FIGHTER

Image
By Helen Davidson,THE GUARDIAN Sam Koin, ousted head of Taskforce Sweep, says 'writing is on the wall' for prime minister Peter O'Neill Australia is well placed to consider sanctions against the Papua New Guinea government in response to a dramatic power grab by its prime minister, the ousted head of the country’s anti-corruption taskforce has said. The former chair of the investigative Taskforce Sweep, Sam Koim, who was to meet the Australian foreign minister, Julie Bishop, on Tuesday, told Guardian Australia “the writing is on the wall” for the prime minister, Peter O’Neill, and said protests – which began today in PNG – would build, predicting it would not be long before police officers joined them. O’Neill was served with an arrest warrant last Monday relating to long-running corruption allegations, with the task force claiming new evidence had emerged. The prime minister then dismissed numerous government and law enforcement figures including the attorney gen

PNG corruption investigator Sam Koim seeks Australian support in case against PM Peter O'Neill

The anti-corruption chief seeking to arrest Papua New Guinea leader Peter O'Neill over graft allegations has called on Australia to demand the Prime Minister respect and restore rule of law or risk losing Australian support. In a high stakes move, the former head of PNG's corruption taskforce, Sam Koim, has flown to Australia to meet Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, Labor and the Greens to urge Australia to support moves for Mr O'Neill to be questioned over his suspected involvement in a fraud scandal and to reinstate the top officials who Mr O'Neill sacked last week. Mr Koim's trip places the Australian government in a delicate situation, given it relies on PNG's support to run the Manus Island detention centre. Mr Koim, along with PNG's Attorney-General and deputy police commissioner were dismissed by Mr O'Neill last week after they moved to arrest and question the Prime Minister over fresh evidence that allegedly implicates him in a major corrupti
