HOW WORSE CAN IT BECOME WHEN POLITICIANS (MPs) ARE LET LOOSE ON THE RUN CHASE AFTER BY THE LAW LIKE CRIMINALS?

By LUCAS KIAP When wanted criminals such the late William Kapris are set after by the law, people are so quick to jump into their conclusions, wanting nothing more than the death verdict even without being tried and found guilty by a competent court of law. It is so easy for a criminal to be chased by the law than a politician who is offcourse elected by the people unlike a criminal who decide his own faith to steal. What we have come to terms with over the last few years since Peter O’Neill become the only PM in the history of this great country to topple an elected government in a coup like leadership grabbing has attracted so much attention that he has become the focal point of public attention, like a top criminal wanted by the law. If anything would take to neutralise and divert public attention away from being wanted by the law, no one can do better than Peter O’Neill. He has been, apart from portraying his public image, becoming a celebrity figure more than a PM.

Papua New Guinea monetary policy – a very slippery slope?

By Paul Flanagan  On 30 September, PNG’s central bank (BPNG) released their six monthly monetary policy statement. This was a mixture of good and bad news. I mentioned in a blog a couple of weeks ago that possibly the only thing more boring in economics than exchange rates was monetary aggregates. So this blog will go into these monetary aggregates but once again, there are some very important development issues tucked away among the technical details. Indeed, there are some very worrying steps being taken that auger poorly for PNG’s international credibility and ultimately its future development. Good news On the good news side. First, it is positive that the statement came out and continued a positive pattern of transparency of major six-monthly updates (on top of shorter monthly updates). Some countries don’t do this – and this can damage their credibility. Second, the updates on some of the behind-the-scenes work that make for a more efficient economy are impressive. Improv

NO MORE NEGATIVE BULLSHIT INFORMATION MAKING OUR GOVERNMENT LOOK BAD

Image
By O’Neill’s Supporter - MENDI I welcome the news of Telikom wanting to buy Nau FM and Em-TV. It is overdue that the government take control of these operations immediately. The reason can be found in this article that appeared in the National. The original source of this negative information is Nau FM talkback program. They interviewed Mr Paul Barker to get negative information about the economy to make our Prime Minister look like he is incompetent in financial matters. He would not be the richest man in PNG if he didn’t know how to manage money properly. Our country is in excellent financial hands with Peter O’Neill. Nau FM is using its talkback program to spread negative information about the Prime Minister and his government. Paul Barker is telling lies to make Peter O’Neill look bad and Nau FM is happy to broadcast the lies all over PNG which the newspapers pick up. We know that it will not look good for the government to rid itself of Paul Barker and other negative people.

A “Legal Corruption” In Government Ministries: The Fancy Hotel Workshop Scam

Image
Government Insider Moreby’s fanciest hotels and even the scattered fancy hotels located in other PNG towns and cities love the new legal corruption that now dominates the PNG government when it comes to workshops.  Chief Secretary Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc finally figured out what honest public servants saw nearly 10 years ago and were practicing without detection.   The harder it gets to steal money, the more motivated dishonest public servants are to find alternative means of experiencing the fancy life, even if only for a few days.  If it now is too hard to steal enough money to bring your girlfriend to the Crowne Plaza for a weekend of loving and high living, you need to find other ways to still experience the fancy life.  Fancy workshops have become a form of legal corruption to achieve this objective. Here’s now this new legal corruption works.    Government workshops used to be held at modest hotels, even guest houses at the provincial level.  Many were held at simple church

PRIME MINISTER FILES URGENT APPLICATION IN SUPREME COURT TO PREVENT FURTHER ARREST

Image
The Supreme Court this morning is hearing an urgent application filed by Prime Minister seeking interim injunction orders preventing Police from taking further action against him in relation to the Paraka-gate scandal. The Prime Minister filed the application joining the James Marape's appeal case currently before the Supreme Court. Marape filed an appeal in the Supreme Court in July appealing the decision of the National Court Judge Kariko's ruling back in June refusing to grant a stay on the warrant of arrest against Prime Minister Peter O’Neill. Pending the full hearing of the appeal Supreme Court granted interim injunction orders against Police arresting Marape. Prime Minister who is also facing further charges in relation to the Paraka-gate scandal is now seeking the same orders from the Supreme Court. The matter is listed this morning before three man bench of the Supreme Court. *************************** Analysis by BRYAN KRAMMER Prior to the District Cour

NCD Gestapo Government & Agents Deny Culpability In Death of Buai Selling Grandmother. Tkatchenko Hugged By Weeping Mothers

Image
PNGBLOGS Contributor Network Head NCD Gestapo Agent and Grandest Chief Powes Parkop has confidentally declared that the Buai Ban will go on, no matter how many human lives may be lost in the process. Clean streets are the overriding goal, Chief Parkop says, and all other concerns take a back seat, Grandest Chief added. Grandest Chief Parkop urged all citizens to speak angrily against anyone who had written against the PNC O’Neill Government over the dead grandmother issue in the social media. He urged friends of the PNC to flood the social media with messages supporting Gestapo policies and the PNC government of Ultimate Chief Peter O’Neill. The Grandest Chief was accompanied yesterday by City hall reservists, police, and a crowd of supporters of the Gestapo government, all of whom said they witnessed what happened and stated with confidence that they were not involved, had nothing to do with it, never saw the killed grandmother, and never seen an elderly grandmother in their

Round and round we go in endless circles with Manasupe Zurenuoc. A conspiracy or Incompetency

Image
By Andrew Paka We’ve heard it all before, not once, but many times.  A senior public servant or national leader angrily says enough is enough about something people are doing.    There is a brief pause during which the problems stop or at least decrease.  No one is punished.  Everyone becomes confident again, and it becomes business as usual.   That is, until the next time that the senior public servant or national leader says enough is enough. Round and round we go, where we stop everyone knows because we’ll never stop this crazy process that seems to be uniquely PNG.   Never being able to stop wrong doing of any kind at any level for more than briefly.   Always back to Square 1 One would have thought that Chief Secretary to Government Sir Manasupe Zureneuoc was going to be different.  He was presented to the nation as an action man who would change things for the better.  Well here we are more than 2 years into the O’Neill administration and once again we have the same ol

ROGUE COPS UNDER ORDER FROM PM HOLD NATIONAL FRAUD UNIT HOSTAGE

Image
Police have just surrounded the national fraud squad office at Konedobu to arrest the Fraud Squad teams Former members of ARRU fully armed shut down National Fraud & Anti Corruption HQ. These rogue officers got new weapons and ammunition at police armory yesterday. They went and received instructions at Paddies bar yesterday evening/night. Many cars were hired. They got drunk and this morning came to fraud squad and sieged. Many came fully drunk  Many people saw full of policemen (the same ones) at paddies yesterday evening. POST COURIER THE National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate office at police headquarters was under siege yesterday morning, seized by armed men from another unit. The siege lasted four hours as tension soared in Konedobu through uncertainty of what was happening. Multiple vehicles were parked around and on the roads at headquarters, cutting off public access to and from the fraud squad unit as armed policemen walked around the area. The public was too sc

O’Neill Government Control of Television and Radio Will Allow An Effective Propaganda Machine

Image
By T Edward Recent news that Telikom will try to purchase EM-TV and NAU FM 100 is disturbing considering other indications that this government is moving towards creating a one party government. It would be a clear advantage to PNC and Peter O’Neill to control television and radio. His strongest opposition is developing in urban areas and television and radio penetrate the urban population better. Controlling print media in PNG is less important to the O’Neill government. The 100% RH owned National newspaper already demonstrates that it touches the Prime Minister lightly when the going gets rough for him. The Post Courier is a shadow of what it was 10 or more years ago and largely incapable of doing anything but reporting news, including slightly editing and printing press releases given to them. Like the National, they show little talent anymore at investigating underlying hidden stories that contain the most earth shattering information. Telikom also would have a hard time co

O’Neill Government Strategy Of Buying Loyalty Continues: Partytime Pruaitch Brings 4 Minor MPs On Taxpayer’s Junket To America

Image
PNG Blogs Contributor Network Buying loyalty in return for favours seems to be one of the Ten Commandments of the O’Niell Government and his Ministers dutifully follow O’Niell’s law. Treasury Minister Patrick Pruaitch just came back from a wine and women party to the United States, accompanied by minor MPs Gordon Wesley, Wera Mori, Ross Seymour and Salio Waipo. How much did that trip cost us taxpayers, and how does one submit acquittals for prostitute expenses? James Marape and goodness knows who else aren’t far behind in seeing the world. Any day now, Marape and friends will start their round the world sightseeing trip that is being promoted as a road show to raise loan money for the dreamland Hela Province hydro project of LR Group. No worries that they’re going to raise any money! At least we should be relieved that the Marape junket is funded by the LR Group, which is either partners with or naïve to PNG government corruption. Then again, how much money going into the h

Why So Many Expensive One Page Newspaper Advertisements By the National Gaming Control Board On “Illegal Hi/Low Lottery”?

Image
PNG Blogs Contributor Network The amount of money being spent by the National Gaming Control Board on full page advertisements in our two dailies that announce a ban on hi/low lotteries is becoming more conspicuous with every passing week. Why is the Gaming Control Board so concerned with this? Not surprisingly, It has to do with Prime Minister Peter O’Steal, who along with his cronies, is worried about his pokies machine empire is being threatened. Yes, this is the same Prime Minister who was telling all the churches only a few years ago that gambling was bad for the people and that he planned to control gambling. Why? Because behind the scenes O’Steal was buying up the pokies parlours in PNG and trying to get a monopoly on the business, which of course would earn him millions. Everyone knows that O’Steal’s pub, known as Paddy’s Bar in Boroko, has pokies. So much for O’Steal’s pious speeches to the pastors. But O’Steal was looking for more than a few pokies in his bar. He

PUMA ENERGY ANSWER THIS QUESTION: HOW ARE YOU CHARGING THE PEOPLE OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA FOR PETROLEUM PRODUCTS?

Image
PNG Blogs Contributor Network Our country sadly seems to attract mostly fly by night and dubious foreign investment these days. For every legitimate ExxonMobil type company who invests in PNG (which is only here because of the vast amount of profits it can make off the LNG project), there are dozens of dubious businessmen, organisations or groups (Hello, LR????) whose world presence seems to always associate with third world dictatorships and easy resource money. Somehow (!!!!!!!) they shady businessmen and businesses always manage to get their foot in the door of the PM’s office almost as easily as ExxonMobil. Puma Energy replaced InterOil (whose world presence apart from PNG is almost nothing), coming with its own less than shiny reputation and background ( see PNGblogs article here ). As always, our Post Courier and National protect these organisations and generally stays away from reporting anything negative about them. It is part of the deception of the people of Papua New G

SENIOR POLICE INVESTIGATOR AND FAMILY THREATENED

A senior police investigator and his family were attacked last night. Patrick Premenga is part of the investigating team tasked to affect the arrest of Prime Minister Peter O’Neill. However, policemen alleged to be associated with the Prime Minister retaliated by mobilising and attacked the investigator and his family. The incident happened under cover of darkness last night. Heavily-armed policemen surrounded the premises and held Patrick Premenga and his family under house arrest. They demanded for Premenga to not serve them with contempt charges. Mr Premenga said the incident has affected him and his family. The neighbours were also traumatised but too scared to recall what had transpired. Mr Premenga is appealing to the police hierarchy to maintain control and command following the incident. He also wants the Prime Minister to be aware of what is happening amongst members of the disciplined force. In recent times, police have used excessive force against the public,

Social Media Groundbreaking comment: “He's staying on for another 10 yrs whether you like or not...”

Image
By a National Planning Bureaucrat I find the longer comments and  debates that are posted directly on the PNGBlogs page to be more thought out and revealing than the hurriedly posted comments on Facebook PNGBlogs.   There aren’t many supporters of Peter O’Neil giving comments on the social media and that is true on PNGBlogs too.  There are a few however and its worth paying close attention to their words. It reveals why they would so vocally support a man who carries such heavy baggage as being disreputable and corrupt.  For PNG to elect and re-elect a nearly proven conman like him would not be unexpected considering that we suffer under such low education standards and lack of information available to everyone. Recently on many social media sites we find more comments, speculation and suspicion that the PM is secretly putting a plan in place to create a dictatorship without need for fighting or violence.   Even without the violence this would normally be a repulsive goal unde

Human Sacrifice In the Name of Cleaner Sidewalks

Image
Please share this photo and story if you feel any genuine compassion and sadness for what happened to this elderly woman. I really believe that anyone who saw this front page photo on the Post Courier today and didn’t get tears in their eyes or feel sick to their stomach has a soul that borders on the inhuman.   The sadness of seeing the young boy hugging his dead grandmother’s body was almost overwhelming as I put my mind inside that boy’s mind.   Sadness changed to anger thinking about the injustice of what happened.  The boy lost his grandmother because NCDC Buai Gestapo agents attacked and chased her into the street trying to take her betelnut and her K30.  Terrified and not looking where she was going, she was hit by a car and killed.  The Parkop/Tkatchenko street thugs then ran away like the cowards they are, leaving her to die. Should any of you argue back, “it was the grandmother’s fault,” don’t bother.  Your personality type is clear.  People with your attitude can l
