MY PERSONAL APPEAL TO THE PRIME MINISTER

Image
by VINCENT MOSES Let me start by saying that I believe in you and your leadership PM Hon. James Marape . You are a good man and this was demonstrated when Peter O'Neill and others illegally removed Grand Chief from power, yet you stood with him. You have again demonstrated your humanity and leadership at the passing of this country's founding father by giving him the respect due to him and deserved by him.   Many of us worked hard behind the scenes to remove O'Neill and make way for you to be Prime Minister. I did my bit with Sam Basil in 2016 and 2017 and later with Bryan Kramer from 2017 to 2019. I was happy when you became PM in 2019 and later assumed leadership of PANGU PATI Inc.   I know you are one man and you need many good, honest and genuine politicians to surround you to make good decisions and lead our country into prosperity and make it the first rich Christian black nation on the face of the earth.   However, I personally question your leadership ever since C

HOW 25% OF PORGERA WAS MERGED WITH A K2 COMPANY

Image
By Sam Kaupa WE HAD 25% OF PORGERA IN THE 90s. WE MERGED IT WITH A K2 COMPANY WHICH CREATED PNG FOCUSED AUSTRALIAN OIL AND GAS COMPANY,  OIL SEARCH LTD– AND NOW WE WANT PORGERA BACK AT COST – A TALE SHROUDED IN HIGH LEVEL CORRUPTION AND CONTROVERSY MASTERMINDED BY GREEDY POLITICIANS AND THEIR COHORTS. When our forefathers gained independence in 1975 they established the Mineral Resources Development Company Limited (MRDC) which was 100% owned by the Government of Papua New Guinea. MRDC was incorporated on 27th May 1975 under the Companies Ordinance 1966.  It was not until 1981 that it became fully functional as a company entrusted with the duty to manage mining and petroleum resource equity interests on behalf of the State and Landowners.  It was the ultimate State Nominee to acquire the State and Landowner equity interests in mining and petroleum projects and to manage the equity funds for landowner companies from the major resource development areas of PNG. In 1996 during Sir Julius

JAME MARAPE IS NO STRANGER TO ELECTION RIGGING

Image
by SIMON TEMO In 2017, It was no surprise that James Marape has retain his seat in the Tari Pori electorate. However, given the circumstance surrounding rumors that the elections in Hela was rigged, there is now evidence surfacing that speaks volumes. Remember, numbers don't lie.  On an interview with EMTV on the 9th of July 2017, Marape himself claimed that he was declared on 50% majority on the first count, to be exact 30,192, which means that the total eligible voters for Tari Pori in 2017 election was about 60,000 plus. However, looking back on past elections, it appears the numbers don't add up. In 2007, total eligible voters for Tari Pori was 37,473. He scored 6,147 1st prefence votes to win (roughly 12% of the voters). In 2012, total voters were 40,039 of which he scored 13,661 of 1st preference votes (34% of the total votes). He went on to win with 18,258 after completion of elimination. From current results, it appears that the total voter population increased by 20,

THE CORRUPT ATTORNEY GENERAL OF PNG.. PART 3

Image
Part.1 and 2 report published in social media captured some of the critical matters which of course requires a full-scale investigation into the Administration and financial affairs of the Department of Justice and Attorney General. This is a part.3 investigation report which focuses mainly on the payment authorized by Secretary for Justice before the close of 2020 which further stresses the qualification of payments and whether these payments were applied to the intended purpose and in accordance with the Department annual work.  These payments include the followings; ; Payment for Accommodation & Conference Observation • The purpose of the creation of the Budget Steering Committee (BSC) was to assess the availability of funds, review requisitions against source documentation and endorse for processing of payments before the Secretary grant his Section.32 approval before the actual cheque payment is collected for a particular service.  • This means that all release of funds fo

‘BIG FISH’ NOW IDENTIFIED IN COCAINE BUST

Image
A new twist in the PNG cocaine trade investigations has identified 30 new names as “persons of interest” – big fish identified.   These include names of politicians including government ministers, senior public servants, senior police officers, senior military officers, and senior citizens and businessmen involved in planning and moving of cocaine from wherever they are into PNG, portion of it to be used here in PNG and the rest sent to Australia.   These 30 are additional to ones already arrested and charged for their part in the July 26 “black flight” Cessna 402 crash at Papa Lealea outside Port Moresby.   “Dominic Terupo and Morgan Mogu are errand boys, they drive, move cargo and clean up, they have no idea about the type and value of the concealed cargo (cocaine) they were dealing with. They work for cash, their names are not mentioned in any of the conversations we have been watching. They are generally referred as “village people”. They are wrongfully arrested and convicted by

WE WILL NOT CHANGE THE GOAL POST - PM

Image
by JAMES MARAPE MP, PRIME MINISTER To all PNG miners (those in both operations and explorations) we will not change goal posts in between. PNG is a robust democracy that honors all agreements to the text and spirit, congruent to our mining act. Major amendments to the resource law regimes we doing will be effected post 2025 and will not affect those agreements secured under present regimes. You can have that comfort. However Pogera is a special case and is an exception because Barrick’s lease expired on 18th August 2019. My letter to Barrick is on it’s way and will explain this and also allude to formal and legitimate processes of government including MAC’s deliberation that refused application for lease renewal. I have my country’s 8million shareholders including the people of Ipili, Pogera , Enga, environmental footprint areas plus present mine workers to look after. Now that your lease has expired, the legal process is there for Barrick to comply so you can maintain your oper

William Duma- Reminding you of your Roots!

Image
by FRANK MENEM JR Our forefathers were the first celebrated people on earth to have toiled the land and farm the upper Wahgi Valley. We have survived without any resources apart from our land from which we cultivate and propagate our fresh vegetables and green coffee beans. Those legendary men and women were among the prominent Highlanders to embrace the ‘white men’ during the wave of civilization. They were classified as the first known primitives who were hospitable and capable of forging lasting relationships with the Europeans. Our people were classified as permanently rich in culture and abundantly wealthy by the first Europeans. A Catholic Missionary had this to write about our people; “The Hagen people of the Wagi raised pigs in abundance and at times, they would even slaughter up to a thousand in a day for their neighbors or allies to celebrate or mark their relationship”. During the migration epochs after the onset of the Leahy brothers, we had more than a

THE SHADOW HUNTER: The Tale of a young CEO

Image
by   Therow Zuaru Once there was a young executive working for a company. After years of serving under the company, he finally got appointed as the 8th chief executive officer of the company. During the inauguration, his adrenaline was so nerve wrecking, because after 17 years he was finally bestowed to that position. But he failed to throw in an official excutive board meeting to acknowledge the stakeholders, boards and international partners who has been playing a pivotal roles for company's 44 years of existence. Instead he became obsessed, turn ballistic on them and pledged rhetoric political chit-chats against them; ▪️  Accused the previous CEO to be the sole person responsible for the company's huge accumulated financial debt of K27 billion. ▪️ Demand Australia immediate closure of Manus detention camp. Pledge that security contract is for locals and not foreign companies. Set up Manus as tax free haven. ▪️ Put foreign companies on notice, pledging to change

PNG WHERE YOUR KINAS BUYS MORE

Image
by  Therow Zuaru ‎ The economy of the world and the way money is valued, is one of the biggest scams of the universe. Money and wealth are naturally backed by mineral resources, land, and basically physical commodities such as precious metals. But in Papua New Guinea, it is not so. It has created a view on national success as putting priority budget areas on financial assistance. It is amusing to watch our politicians continue to become researchers researching into international financial schemes like WB, IMF, Exim Bank, ADB, EU, Ausaid, UBS, EU for soft loans development funds, financial aid to survive. Virtually for almost 45 years these financial institutions have been the proud sponsor for Papua New Guinea existence. Papua New Guinea has been recipient of foreign assistance since independence and prepare our budgets factoring the aid dynamics into them. Important issue we must look at is the financial assistance has obviously been a primordial source of income for many Papu

KUMUL PETROLEUM’S DEALINGS: BANKRUPTED A NATION AND BROUGHT DOWN A PRIME MINISTER

Image
by REGINALD HAUREVA Reference a recent letter to the Editor of the Post Courier under the  caption “Kumul Petroleum,  Petronas in the making” published on June 12,  2019, authored by one “ BUSH COMMERCIAL LAWYER OF PORT MORESBY”. The timing of this letter is quite uncanny. It was obviously timed to pre-empt and cuff the hand of Hon. James Marape MP, the new Prime Minister, who is the trustee shareholder of Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited and associated companies (“Kumul”). However, its timing betrays a tinge of fear our bush lawyer obviously harbours in the new government having its own ideas of just what role, if any,  Kumul Board and its current CEO, Mr Wapu Sonk could play, in the greater campaign to take back PNG. For information of the Bush Lawyer, the Kumul Petroleum Trustee has the power to sack any or the entire Board(s) and the CEO, if he pleases. But that is too simplistic. The fact that someone high up in Kumul obviously prompted such a letter to be written is itself s
